Checo Perez leaves Racing Point. F1 is broken. Money and power are more important than talent and hard work

Sergio Perez has  made an announcement: he is leaving the Racing Point by the end of the season. He has no alternative, possibly it is his last season in F1

Perez joined the team back in 2014. He was standing on the podium in second race in Bahrain. He was the leader of the team since 2014. He is one of the most underrated drivers on the grid, since I’ve been following the F1, 1998.

Perez hasn’t delivered in 2013 McLaren. The team was in transition preparing car with hybrid engine before 2014 massive regulation change. Perez left McLaren and joined the team from Silverstone, called Force India in 2014, currently Racing Point, Aston Martin in 2021. Aston needs Vettel, the former champion, star. They want to set up leading force, they are the global brand, not only British. Vettel will have fresh start in the new team.

However, Sergio Perez didn’t deserve to be treated like that. He signed 3 years contract last year and now he’s lost his job basically. Perez is solid, reliable, capable of producing exceptional result, like podium due to his experience in managing tyres over the race distance. Vettel has been struggling since the hybrid engines were introduced in 2014 in Red Bull, then in Scuderia Ferrari. Sebastian Vettel has lost championship fight with himself, not with Lewis Hamilton in 2017 and in 2018. He had quicker car and poor performances. He was making too many mistakes, who can forget the spin in Monza back in 2018?

Stroll stays, he is average, poor I would say, but he has financial backing, therefore he is in F1.

Money is the power. The sport is not longer important. Market is broken. However, F1 is global platform, business, not the sport anymore, because, if you have money, you are on the grid providing the financial backup to your team - therefore the team can be developed and survive, or  you are the former champion making market happy.

Vettel should be out of the F1. He doesn't deserve to be on the grid, he was overshadowed and outperformed by Daniel Ricciardo and Charles Leclerc. Sergio Perez could deliver at Ferrari or Mercedes, but it will not happen in the current F1 world.

Embarrassing, very embarrassing.
