Former Real Madrid, Bayern and Colombian national team star joins Everton, which is incredible story. Premier League is attractive.
James David Rodriguez Rubio has never met the expectations after sensational performance at World Cup in 2014. He was the shining star of the tournament in Brazil, playmaker, the team leader of Colombia national team. Everyone was impressed watching him on the pitch. It was only the matter of time, he joined one of the leading teams in Europe, playing the leading role actually as play maker. However, he never met expectations in Europe. James joined Real Madrid and he wasn’t able to show his true potential. He was overshadowed by Cristiano Ronaldo and as the role player his performance was deteriorating in Madrid. He was on loan in Munich at Bayern, then he returned to Madrid. He never fitted to club, which is bitterly ironic.
However, after 6 years he joins Everton. The Toffies are in deep shadow of other club from Liverpool, the current Champions of England, FC Liverpool team of Jurgen Klopp, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold. They are managed by the great Carlo Ancelotti, former Champions League winner as the coach of AC Milan, still one of the best coaches in the European football, character, charismatic leader, manager, who has the clear concept how to play.
It is great story, because Everton players are not able to win the title in 2021, although I’m aware nobody has been expected Leicester to clinch the Premier League title in 2015. They will be fighting for top 6, possibly top 4 in Premier League, not for the title. FC Liverpool and Manchester City are simply far better - they win week by week. Everton didn’t win any trophy since mid 1990s. Now, they can join teams like Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham fighting for Champions League spots at the end of the season.
Premier League is attractive for the best. Ancelotti could manage much better club with larger budget than Everton, however he works as Everton manager making positive impact on the entire English Premier League, considering marketing value drawing attention of best players, like James and sporting value. Ancelotti is great tactician. Italian manager is able to teach and learn teams well organized, high disciplined football and how to work and operate as the team in defense without the ball - how to move as the unit without the ball playing in defense, how the match should be managed.
I can’t wait for upcoming Premier League season. The best league on the planet delivers. Stars are not only at best teams, front runners, but also further back.
