Robert Lewandowski and Bayern are in the league of their own

Bayern demolished Schalke 04 Gelsenkirchen on matchday one of Bundesliga. Lewandowski “rabona” assist made this game simply exceptional.


Sane, Gnabry and Lewandowski played great one touch football between lines, without ball they have been closing Schalke quickly. Bayern set up the tone of Bundesliga and the European football in current season. If you want to win, you need to close down without the ball as soon as possible to retake possession and play vertically between lines. Bayern are doing so over last months in the European football setting up the bar high, it is simply the standard of playing football on the very highest level these days.

It is great to watch. They make a show for fans. Fans are not on the stadium, however, we can follow Bayern on TV and it is simply pleasure.

Bayern have made great moves on the transfer market. They lost Coutinho and Thiago, however Leroy Sane, former Manchester City player joined the club from Munich. It great decision, which has been made. Sane is creative, imaginative, skillful, great number ten for any team. Sane played exceptionally well with Gnabry and Lewandowski - he was creating chances, making space for teammates. It was great show. One touch plays, Schalke have been powerless without the ball.

However, defense is the key to understand Bayern success. They defend as the unit, formations are altogether and they quickly close down and make interception or commit a foul. When they retake possession they counter attack straightaway. Modern football looks like that. Liverpool, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain are doing the same thing.

Team work means win. Atmosphere seems to be great among players, coach and the board. Team spirit makes this team special. It is the best Bayern team I’ve seen over last 20 years.
