Manchester City would win Champions League with Leo Messi

Leo is leaving FC Barcelona, both sides will seat to negotiate the deal soon. Currently, they are bitterly divided over the issue, however, Messi wants to leave and it is clear.

Leo will join the other team in Europe, possibly Manchester City. They are ready to offer 450 million £ according to the BBC Sport and Spanish media. Messi needs to be sold, otherwise, he would leave anyway possibly with no fee required to buy him by terminating his contract. His contract expires anyway in 2021. The club needs to make profit for this deal, FC Barcelona is the business, not only the football club and the academy.


If Leo joins Manchester City, he will try to win EPL and UCL in coming season with Pep Guardiola’s team. I do not like to speculate, however City can afford to purchase Messi. They could spend 450 million, possibly more to make Leo one of the City players. Moreover, they should make it happen, they want to grow as the brand. Every single kid on Earth would buy Leo's shirt and it would be Manchester City shirt. They will make money by spending money straightaway. It is the right decision to make and investment in the future, not only by competing on UCL but building the global brand, not only EPL championship and dominating the European market.


Owners of the City want to win UCL and EPL badly. They invest millions of pounds every year to make it happen. They need play maker and experienced fake nine, like Leo Messi to get the job done in upcoming 3-4 years. City are struggling in the UCL due to lack of experience. They are missing something, when it comes to games, which are the most important considering the European title. They need Messi on board.

Messi would play fake nine behind his friend Aguero operating between lines with de Bruyne, Foden, Mahrez, Rodrigo and Bernardo Silva. It could be the winning project also in the English Premier League, not only in Uefa Champions League. They will fight for the English crown with mighty Liverpool team of Jurgen Klopp, current champions of England.

The City would be under pressure to deliver anyway. Pellegrini and Guardiola failed to do so in Europe. Winning the Uefa Champions League is extremely difficult. Current champions, Bayern Munich played extremely well to win this, particularly considering defense. Every time they have lost the ball, they tried to take the ball back as soon as it was possible. They were persistent and aggressive. They were consistent over the entire game every time. It is extremely difficult to perform in this way under pressure, however, defense and physicality are requirements, which have to be met to win. Pep can do it and even more importantly, if he would have Leo Messi on the pitch, they could surprise their opponents. Leo is creative, imaginative, intelligent, he needs team to play well to deliver. Leadership is crucial considering football nowadays.

Premier League would be elevated to the most important league on the World, if Messi came. It means profit due to media, television coverage in difficult times taking into account the current global economic downturn.

I just cannot wait to see Leo playing in the City or other competitive team. He deserved better than being the part of transition - he would have been sacrificed by new Barca coach, Ronald Koeman as the role player, trying to help Fati, de Jong and other youngsters coming to the team. I think it is the reason why is he leaving the club. He would not have been any longer the leader, having the freedom to play as the fake nine. He would be second fiddle to others. Messi is 33 and he wants to win as the leader, understandably so, he is capable to carry the team to win, not be second choice.

Leo made the job done in Barcelona. It’s time for another chapter to be written.
