Leeds United and Manchester
City played absolutely magnificently yesterday at Elland Road, both teams were
attacking all the time. The intensity of this game was absolutely incredible.
The spectacle was absolutely special.
Guradiola and Bielsa love high pressing football and it fits perfectly to
Premier League. Both managers are capable of improving their players. We can
clearly see that while we analyze the progress, which has been made by Manchester
City’s forward Raheem Sterling under Pep Guardiola management and the entire Leeds United team under Marcelo Bielsa.
The former Valencia player, Rodrigo has been brilliant in this fixture, making
the difference immediately, when he came from the bench. Tactics was perfect.
City had the advantage over Leeds under rainy and windy conditions in first 30
minutes, but afterwards Leeds played far better and with high intensity, particularly
in defense and it was effective tactics. Leeds had the upper hand over the
former champions over the rest of the game and despite the best efforts of
Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden, Leeds players were close to
win this game. It was stunning 90 minutes of football, very reminiscent to
Leeds games from the past in early 2000s.
Pep needs to turn things around quickly, otherwise Liverpool will clinch
another title earlier than we expect. City players are not consistent, sloppy
and vulnerable under pressure, the mentality must be better. The club spent hundreds million of pounds on defense and they are not good enough.
Premier League provides the best entertainment you can possibly imagine. We
miss fans, but the game itself is at the highest level since the restart.
